Inglis history

1859: John Inglis and partners opened a machine shop in Guelph, Ontario.
1946: The company entered home appliances, building a wringer washer under licence.
1950: Automatic washers were added, followed by dryers and dishwashers.
1987: Whirlpool Corporation took majority control.
2001: The company was renamed Whirlpool Canada.
2004: Whirlpool's last Canadian plant, in Montmagny, Quebec, was set to close, ending Canadian production.
