For inspectors and professionals
Create your first report
Use the Android app to create, brand, preview and send appliance reports. Report creation is free; successful lookups use your available allowance or optional paid access.
Android is available. The iPhone app is coming soon. Report authoring is not available in a web browser. The website manages your account, lookup access and report email template, and lets clients view reports and save appliances.
1. Create your account
Open Your account, enter your email and choose Email me a sign-in code. Enter the six-digit code from your email; it works for 10 minutes. Verifying your email creates your free account if you are new. Use the same email in the Android app.
Creating an account does not start paid billing. If you only have an iPhone, you can use website lookups, but you will need a supported Android device to author reports until the iPhone app is available.
2. Choose your lookup access
The website includes 15 free successful lookups each month. A verified account can choose Start 30-day trial in Your account for 200 successful lookups shared by the app and website. The website allowance is used first. The trial starts when you activate it and ends after 30 days or 200 lookups. One trial per person; unused trial lookups expire. No card is needed, and starting it does not activate paid billing. If you already enabled paid access, charges can resume after free and prepaid units are used or expire.
After free units, you can optionally add a card for $0.10 per successful lookup, or buy prepaid lookups at $0.08 each. Purchased units do not expire. On the website and app, available free trial or contribution units are used before prepaid units, then optional pay-as-you-go access. The developer API has a separate monthly free allowance.
When offered for a professional inspector account without monthly billing, Keep lookups available with monthly backup billing is selected by default for a new prepaid package. Completing the purchase with it selected authorizes $0.10 successful lookups, billed monthly, after applicable free and prepaid units are used. Backup becomes active after payment and billing setup are confirmed; check your account status. Uncheck it before purchasing for a package without new backup billing. Packages do not refill automatically, and purchased units never expire. Unchecking does not turn off previously enabled paid access; use Turn off paid lookups in Your account for that. Existing prepaid-only purchases are not automatically enrolled.
A successful lookup returns a manufacture year, including an estimated year that still needs verification. A lookup that finds no date is free. Review an estimate against the label and manufacturer information; a charge does not certify its accuracy. Creating, branding, editing and sharing a report has no separate report fee.
For pay-as-you-go, choose your Billing country in Your account, then Add a card. Adding the card enables paid lookups. Canadian billing is in CAD; U.S. and other-country billing is in USD. These currencies apply to the displayed lookup rates and prepaid package amounts. Prepaid checkout shows the currency, applicable tax and total before payment. Pay-as-you-go totals depend on completed usage. Usage is counted by UTC calendar month and billed on the 1st of the following month. Turn off paid lookups stops paid access and invoices completed usage that has not yet been billed.
Amounts below Stripe’s minimum card charge can carry forward to a later invoice. An invoice can be marked paid without collecting a card payment. Check the amount paid and any known carried balance in Your account.
3. Add your branding in the app
Install the Android app and sign in with the same email. Open Your profile and branding, add your name, company and contact details, choose your logo, and tap Save. Crop close to the logo so it is readable on your report.
Once your app profile is saved, you can customize the Report email template in your website account. Report and PDF links are always included. Review the sender details and message before your first client delivery.
4. Create a report and add appliances
Start a new report in the app. Enter the client’s name and email, property address and inspection date. Add a property photo if you want one. Scan each appliance’s complete data plate and add it to the appropriate system in the report.
Review the extracted brand, model and serial against the physical label. Correct reading errors, check the date source and uncertainty, and verify possible recall matches against the official notice. Estimates, typical life and replacement costs are informational; they do not establish condition or safety. Add notes or a manufacturer-confirmed date when needed.
A working connection is needed for label reading and publication. Offline drafts must finish syncing before you preview or send the final report. For longer-term photo records, archive scans or save them in reports or My appliances; unused active app scans and photos are removed after three months.
5. Preview, publish and deliver
Use Preview online and Preview PDF to review your logo, client details, appliance readings, notes and recall information. Previewing does not publish or send email.
After checking the client email, choose Publish and email to client. The client receives an email with online report and PDF links. For delivery through your own channel, choose Publish and copy link (no email). Share email message opens a message through your device’s sharing tools; you still need to send it there.
Anyone with a published report link can view it. Disabling a link does not recall downloaded or saved copies. Clients can use their own account to save the appliances and choose optional recall emails; receiving a report does not subscribe them to marketing.
