How old is my tankless water heater?

Tankless Water Heater serial number and manufacture date

Can I use a tank water heater date chart for a tankless unit?

Confirm the product family first. A manufacturer can sell tank and tankless products with different serial conventions. Include the full model and a whole-label photo so a printed date or the correct supported format can be checked.

Which date should I use for tankless water heater records?

Keep manufacture and installation dates in separate fields, with the evidence for each. A service or descaling sticker records maintenance and should not be treated as the unit’s manufacture date.
